Good afternoon and welcome to All Saints for Ash Wednesday, the sacred beginning of the season of Lent. Today, we gather to mark this solemn day of penitence and reflection, inviting God to shape our hearts in this holy season of prayer, fasting, and spiritual renewal. Lent leads us inward toward deeper communion with Christ as we follow him into the wilderness of prayer and self-examination, ultimately preparing our hearts for the joy of Easter.
Ash Wednesday calls us to remember our mortality and our deep need for God’s mercy—“remember that you are dust, and to dust you shall return”—as we receive the sign of ashes and commit ourselves to a season of repentance and transformation.
Whether you are watching from home or elsewhere, we invite you to join fully in the prayers, responses, and sacred observance of this evening’s service. May this liturgy open your heart to God’s grace and lead you into a meaningful journey through Lent.
